Yoga
Yoga is an ancient Indian way of life that originated more than 3000 years ago. Contrary to popular belief, Yoga is not just another form of exercise. It is a combination of postures, breathing techniques, and meditation. The aim of Yoga is to create a harmony between Body, Mind, and Soul. There are many components of Yoga and the physical component is known as Hatha Yoga. It is very useful in curing one of chronic muscle pains, enhancing circulation, and relaxing the mind. Many have benefited from Yoga and its incorporation in daily life. A lot of patients have regained their health after getting disappointed from modern medicine.
There are many yoga centers, and institutes in India. Rishikesh is a prime hotspot as far as yoga and meditation centers are concerned. The natural calm and tranquility of the place make it a perfect place for some soul searching. All top of the line hotels in major cities and tourist destinations in India also offer yoga sessions and guidance in their fitness centers. These services can be easily availed. One can also avail of medical tourism packages or yoga and meditation tours that feature Yoga camps and one-on-one sessions at exotic locales. Yoga is a very powerful tool for enhancing the quality of life. This can be well ascertained from the fact that it has taken the world by storm.
Ayurveda
With its roots in Vedic culture, Ayurveda is yet another ancient Indian therapy that has taken the world by storm. However, it does not involve any exercise or complicated postures. Simply put, it is a science of natural healing. A person is cured of his or her ailments by the application of herbs, oils, massage techniques and the like. It also involves modifying one’s diet and eliminating that which does not suit the most active element in your body. These elements (space, air, fire, water, and earth) are called Doshas. A simple quiz about your likes, dislikes and natural preferences can help an Ayurveda specialist in deciphering your Dosha.
